i put my firemouth in a new tank and i think it might be that the rocks in this tank are white and the rocks in the last tank were black but also all the fish does is hide behind rocks and it used to be very active could it be sick the fish is about 5inches long ???

Other than the rocks..what are the other differences in the tank. It could be the shock of moving from one tank to another. Although I have never experienced this myself. Is this new dwelling cycled. Water parameters and temp the same. Any other dominant fish in the new tank.
Firemouths are not generally skiddish, so I would check things out in the tank. I would put some stress zyme or something like that into the tank...I like to use salt in my tanks.

What other fish are in this tank? I have two Firemouths, one in a 29G community Tank and a another one in a 20G community tank. I am in the proccess of saving for a 55G that will be my Cichlid tank. They both seem to do pretty good and keep to themselves. The one in my 29G likes to chase my Pleco and my German Blue Ram around but it doesn't hurt them because my Blue Gourami chases him around anytime he starts trouble. Are there other fish in the tank that are bigger than him, that would intimidate him? Good Luck and let us know what happens. :)

yes its prolly from being stressed out from moving to another. did you move it to a bigger or smaller tank?
