Hey,

I have a 29gal tank set-up that I just moved all the fish to different homes, now I would like to do a completely planted neon tank... but I'm VERY VERY new to plants.

A guy at work just gave me some clipping from his 50 overly planted tank in his office... all the plants are low light very hardy plants.. hopeful a good start.

I have read up a bit on the plants but if anyone has any suggested reading please let me know. Any tips, comments, suggestions, etc????

Thanks.

Yeah, start here at page one and go for it! You could check out thekrib.com and aquabotanic.com too. Another tip, keep that guy a friend cuz he's likely to have more clippings later. It'll be a good supply if your trial and error has more error than trials ;)
Good luck!

Thank you for your help... I plan to keep this guy as a friend... he works on the same campus as I do and has a 50gal at work, 180 gal, 90 gal, 72 gal, 50 gal, 29 gal and several 10 gals at home.. all planted.. :-) I have seen photos of his tanks and they are just wonderful. He has been in the hobby since the mid 70's, therefore a guarantee he should know what he is doing.. lol

And yes I'm sure I will have a few error before getting this down... nothing can go perfect the first time around. lol.
