He has been sick with Velvet and parasites. I have been treating him with Coppersafe and Aquarisol. He won't eat Tetra pellets or bloodworms. Any suggestions?

Pls tell us your tank size, any tankmates, and if you have tested your ammonia, nitrates & nitrites (if so what are the levels)

This is the info the OP PM'd to me...
Neo is in a small Betta tank (approx 3/4 gallon). No filter and I have not tested Nitrates, Ph, etc. I bought him from Wal-Mart which I will never do again! I bought a Betta at Petco "Max" and he is thriving in a slightly smaller tank. He is a piglet. I would like to keep Neo from dying. His looks are improving with the medicine, but not his appetite. I read that brine shrimp is a Betta favorite. What do you think?
Welcome to AC! all your responses can be posted rather than sent in a Private Message. I think that a tank that small is not a good start. You should get a 5 gallon at minimum, that is MY opinion. Did you let your tank cycle?...if not you should test right away and post the results if you can. There is plenty of threads here about cycling and how-to. What kind of medicine are you using?

I got this in a PM:
Hi,
I don't have a PH tester - yet. I bought Neo at Wal-Mart which I will never do again! I bouth Max my other Betta at PetCo and he is thriving in a 3/4 gallon or so Betta bowl. He is a little piglet. Neo is starting to look better after medicating him. But I'm not sure what to feed him. I heard Brine Shrimp are good for picky eaters? What do you think?
Well you can always respond to your trends, bu clicking the button next to "quote". This way everyone can see and help you out. Your tank is really too small for a betta. You might want to try and get a 5 or 10g with a filter. Also remember that you will need to cycle your tank. See the newbi section for more info. Good Luck and welcome to AC!

I have been doing partial water changes every couple of days using Coppersafe and Aquarisol and a little Aquarium salt.

1) Is your tank cycled?
2) Can you return the fish?
3) Can you upgrade to a 5g or more?
4) Can you get a test kit?

Yes, sorry I forgot that you will need a filter, also if your water is tap water, you should pick up a bottle of dechlorinator

Hi,
I have been using dechlorinator. I will buy a bigger tank ( I was leaning towards that.). Thank you all for your advice it's greatly appreciated. I will come back on and give you an update on Neo. I don't want to have to buy a "Neo Reloaded". Matrix cheesy humor - sorry! Have a great night all!
