View Full Version : The Severed Finger Lady

So, they're saying that the woman who "found" a finger in her Wendy's Chilli has a history of sueing people, including fast food restaurants. She has had 5 or 6 lawsuits in the past, one of which was claiming a local fast food restaurant made her son sick. Another was that her boss sexually harassed her, at which point her lawyer in the case quit because he claims she threatened him.

When asked to comment on friday, she stuck her head out of her door and said something to the effect of "lies lies lies" and "the police are out to get her."

Now, wendy's is still maintaining that they are not the source of the finger as all of their employees, directly and from vendors/suppliers, still have all of their fingers.

The fraud police team conducted a search of the woman's home and seized a few things, such as a cooler from the back yard and some belongings of one of her aunts who used to live there.

I now am really thinking she planted that finger there (which would explain how she didn't see a 1.5" LUMP in her spoon and why no injury reports were filed). To think I felt really sorry for her and thought she should get rich. Apparently she thought the same!

What I want to know is where do you buy fingers?

She must have found a "donor".

The morgue? I don't know...but don't you think it all sounds very suspicious now?

Of course, I thought it seemed strange at first how nobody at the KFC of their supplier had reported an injury or was missing a finger. You dont cut off the top of a finger and not realize it...

Exactly. And it's not exactly something you could hide either! I think people around you would notice and you can't really say "Oh good, no one say that, let's just keep going!"

Brings up the question: is it OK to eat chili with your fingers?

I heard on the news last night that they think the finger came from her dead aunt.

Ew. That's what I was thinking when I heard they confiscated some of her aunt's things. That is absolutely disgusting and abhorrent. Wendy's lost a lot of money because of this - she ought be forced to give everything she has...if what they're speculating is true.

Talk about coincidence, but some of us were discussing this at work and then all of a sudden one of the line operators gets his finger severed in the bandsaw. I said just another lawsuit.

Got 2 instances here that are funny as hell(if not stupid):

1. Lady I worked with went into Hardee's one morning with mom & dad to get breakfast. The workers were mopping the floor. You know those bright yellow buckets companies use when they are mopping floors? Well, this lady stepped into one of those, it rolled(as they do since they have wheels) and down she went. She sued & won about $50,000 for pain/suffering. She didn't slip & fall because of water on the floor but because the bucket she stepped in rolled and caused her to fall. Now, forgive me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't you have to kind of high-step it to step into one of these buckets?

2. Guy worked with brother-in-law and they were all talking about insurance and how it paid $1500 for a severed digit(this was back in late 70's). guy kind of mentioned that wasn't too bad of a deal for something like a finger and even mentioned that losing a little finger wouldn't be a problem since we really don't use that finger(unless typing). A couple of days later, he had an accident and cut off one of his little fingers.

And here's one that really will make your day:

My wife worked for charcoal company(big red bag) who also makes charcoal starter fluid. A guy sued because he suffered 2nd & 3rd degree burns over his arms and chest because he sprayed fluid on hot burning coals and it blew up on him. Now, he admitted in court he had read the instructions about not doing this and understood the instructions. But he did it anyway. The jury awarded him a large sum of money. Again, for pain and suffering.

I lost my finger in a car accident. Story is I was giving the driver of the car that hit me "the finger" because he was driving in our lane. He hit us headon on a New Year's Eve night. You bet I sued!!!!

So........did you loose the middle one??? :joke:

I used to work with a guy that cut off 3 fingers on his left hand using a carpet knife with his right one. They are all cut on an angle too. He used to thumb the chest of the person he was talking to with his index "STUMP" to get his point across better. That used to freak me out !!

I'm glad she's going to jail. I'm sure she cost Wendy's a big chunk of change. Wendy's is one of the few places I'll eat fast food. A frosty doesn't sound too bad right about now. :)

My cousing was a government meat inspector before he retired. He said Wendy's was the only fast food restaurant that he would eat at, and I figure he should know.

Update:

The finger may have come from the woman's recently deceased relative.
Let's see if the courts order an exuming (wording..?) ....

I wasn’t paying attention that there was a thread on this dingbat. Being from Las Vegas I’m a little closer to the action and we hear about it on the local news constantly. She is currently being held on a $500,000.00 bond on the fraud charges over the house she sold that she didn’t own. So far they still haven’t found wear the finger came from. About two weeks age they wear looking at lady that had here finger nipped off by a leopard.

Wouldn't a finger that spent several hours in a chili vat be cooked down to just the bone? btw it was not just the tip she found, it had a knuckle attached ewww

A couple new developments over the weekend, is seems her hubby wont be visiting her in jail right now because he’s in the slammer himself. He was arrested for ID theft, failure to pay child support and other related charges. Nothing like making a faults clams to get the cops looking into your live…..

They have figured out where the finger came from. It belonged to a friend of her husbands, who lost it in an industrial accident LAST DECEMBER! http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/05/13/wendys.finger.ap/index.html

Why the hell would she have it then?

"Dearie me that must have hurt. Did you slice it clean off? Wow. Here, I'll take that home, clean it up, and have it back to you, clean as a whistle, before Sunday. You can show it to the pastor, he'll be right impressed by that."

The woman has a history of suing companies. Something like a dozen lawsuits. It seems to be her career. Maybe she planned it when the friend got his finger severed & held onto it for 4 months or so waiting for the opportunity. I just can't imagine this situation. "Man, you got your finger cut off? Dude, I'm sorry....you gonna keep it or can I have it?" Bizarro.

This woman ought to be in a cage somewhere. She is just plain psychotic.
