Hi
I am from the uk
I recently visited my local aquarium centre a saw this gorgeous looking fish. I asked the assistant about it and he said it was a black belt, and that it would be ok in my tank with my oscars. So I brought it home and introduced it into my tank.
It was ok to begin with...... a bit of squabbling as they do.
Then it turned into the most viscous fish I've ever seen, attacking everthing in site. My 2 albino oscars are 9" and this fish was 6".
I removed it to my spare 55gl tank and began to research on the net. I found that it is either a trimac or a flowerhorn.... nothing like a black belt.
Can someone give me any info on keeping this fish...... what fish can it live with ( if any )?
What is the difference between trimac / flowerhorn. I understand flowerhorn is a hybrid..... is a trimac?
Is it supposed to behave like it is possessed by the devil?
Please help

The Trimac cichlid is the most agressive fish that ive ever had they are very nice looking and can reach around 16-18 inches some say 12 or 14 but mine was about 16 in 1year and a half. the flower horn is a high breed that is bred from a trimac and a red terror,Trimac is the orig. there are other combination but its always atrimac involved. Nowadays almost all are half and half(no full breeds) but trimacs are more green in color and have a pretty pink on there kills flower horn arnt all grn and are usually kinda pearly looking. males will get a big bump on there head. trimac will jump out and bite u when u feed them mine and my friends both did. they are so aggressive and realy shouldnt be put in with anything. mine and my friends killed reddevils, butti, salvinis, and even a dovii(The most aggressive cichlid, people say) anyways that will never be able to live with yor oscars, in a 55 it cant live with anything not even a pleco. a 55 will be to small. i hope this helps!
