In one of my 20 Gallon aquariums, im having a real hard time getting rid of green suspended algae. I've covered it twice with towels for about 5 days each to try and kill it but it came back. Now im trying some Kent product that is supposed to clump the algae so it can be picked up by the filter. An Aqua Clear 30 (formerly called 150) but the problem persists. Has anyone got any tips at how i can solve the problem?

Althogh green algae can be cause by excesss oif light, there few other reason for gree algae bloom. They are
- High NO3 in your water
- Over feeding resulting in high NO3
- High Phospate and silicate conetent
- Poor water circulation
- Low O2 levels

It could be any one of these reasons.

I agree check all of the things that rohnds mentioned, although if your tank is getting natural sunlight (even indirectly) that is the most likely cause.

A UV sterilizer will take care of the problem.
