Hi guys
Read somewhere recently that zucchini can be a good treat for Plecos. But, Zucchini is not available in my part of the world - so what would be best alternate for this ? Can whats-best for plecos be good enough for other bottom feeders like eels and loaches too ? Please advice.

You can feed them other similar squashes, or cucumbers, peas, dark green leaf vegetables and of course, algae wafers.

What kind of pleco is it.
I have a common pleco Pterygoplichthys pardalis that survive mainly on algae growing on the tank. But some plecos doesn't eat algae, example being Gold Nugget.
I also feed him vegetable such as lettuce, spinach and peas.
Hope this help

I have a snowball (L102) and I feed him on potato with algae wafers - cut a piece of potato, add a couple of "slits" and insert a wafer in each slit - I have found this the best way to prevent my shrimp eating the algae wafers before he gets chance to (also leaves a cool dent with his "teeth" marks!)

Mine always hides, and if I put some food in, my Platies get it, and toss it in the filter intake. Smart fish :dance2:

What's your part of the world? Zuccinni is what the North Americans call it. In Europe it's known as a Courgette. Hope this helps :)
