i was wondering what was needed to set up a sw tank it is a cichlid tank right now. it is a 29 gal. what would go good in there. i am hopeing to do maybe mostly live coral and maybe 1 or 2 fish. is that not going to work in that size of a tank? any answers would be helpful.

thanks,

I have a 25g minireef with three small water pumps, about 2 inches of live sand and 40-50 pounds of live rock, a maroon clown,a yellow damsel and a watchman goby. I also have many hermit crabs, snails, a coral banded shrimp, a star fish and a lot of corals. There is no filter and I do a small (<20%) water change every few weeks and some basic supplementation. The tank has been running for over 3 years and is probably one of my clearest tanks and the corals are growing and thriving. I have a 160 watt and a 32 watt power compact flourescent lights. Check this site for some good beginner info http://www.nano-reef.com/ - good luck!
