Loud skimmer

This is my first shot at saltwater, but are all skimmers supposed to be loud as all hell? I have a SeaClone 100 and the thing sounds like a hot tub. Is there anything else hang on that's quieter, like a Prizm? I understand why it's loud, so I guess it's only a minor gripe and I can definantly ignore, I was just wondering if it's normal.

Yes its normal, i also run a Seaclone 100 on my 30 gallon leather tank..

its becouse of the air intake..

Now as for hang ons, they are pretty much simmular.. Unless you go with a Airstone driven skimmer..

I disagree, they're not all the same... The Remora from AquaC is head an shoulders above the rest in its class...

I meant that most skimmers that are venturis drivin, tend to make the same kind of Noise, the Air sucking sounds..

Yes the Remora Series Skimmers are amazing, i run one on my 72 gallon tank , they are nore Venturis nore Airstone,.
