Hi,
I have a 55 gallon tank that I need a few suggestions on. Keep in mind that we will be upgrading this tank next year for sure. I wouldnt let my husband get his Bala sharks unless he promised :)
Anyways, right now I have
3 bala Sharks
4 clown loaches
1 pictus cat
2 rubberlipped Plecos
We want the main fish in the tank to be the Bala sharks, so we want those to stand out. What other type of fish could we have in there? I was thinking of getting a school or two of a smaller fish but I am not sure what because we have the pictus cat. I would like a tight schooling fish that does not get spooked easily and scare the Balas. Could anyone suggest any?

Another question, I need to move my 4 yoyo loaces and 2 corys into my 55. My small pictus cat will not mess with the cory's, right?

Thanks for any help

I think some larger tiger barbs would be cool - I have a group of tiger and other related barbs with my balas, loaches and tin foil barbs and they all do great. If the cories are big enough and the pictus is small enough I woudn't worry about the aggression/eating issue too much, at least for now. However, Pictus are one of the most "neurotic" behaving fish around, moving around seemingly all day and even more at night - the pictus might annoy the crap out of the rest of your bottom feeders more than anything else.
