I am having a hard time deciding between a couple of sets of lights and would appreciate any input I could get. I know that I am going to be told to get metal halides, but my intentions are pretty much polyps and mushrooms so my lighting needs are not extremely demanding. I have found two light sets that I am considering; First, Current USA 30" Satellite Duel Compact Flourescents. Next, I am looking at Jebo Odyssea 36" Duel Compact Flourescents. I have a 29 gallon tank and my top is 30 inches long. This seems to give the Satellites an advantage, but it seems that the Jebo has brackets that can slide to adapt to my size tank. I am not sure about the brackets because none of the websites that carry the product give any mounting details. The Jebo's also give higher wattage and are cheaper. They do not have a built in moonlight, but a moonlight add on is only about $9 more. Does anyone have experience with either of these light sets? I would really appreciate any suggestions anybody could give because the Jebo seems like a good option, but I don't want an inferior product that won't fit my tank. Thanks!

If you haven't looked into them you can get VHO lighting for a reasonable price. What are the wattages for the lights your looking at? Do you have some links, or a price range you want to spend?

check ebay type in metal halide there are some low wattage setups pretty cheap trust me you will eventally want to get a 150 watt halide so just do it now and get it over with the most expensive thing besides you tank are lights i use Lights Of America Flourex security lights over my 30s i use the 65 watt model it costs 45 bucks and has a good cri and its rated at 6500k prime for growth i supplement with 2 24" coral life 03 actinics and i get awsome growth of polyps and corraline and the kicker........ replacement bulbs are 10 bucks with lamp life of 10000 hours
