Hi there i have had a volitan lion in with a porcupine puffer and a polkadot grouper for approx six or seven months (yes i know how big they all get ) they are all about 4 inches at present all my tank chemistry is spot on and all of them are eating fine but i came home tonite and found my lion dead in a corner with his horns and eyes eaten but nothing else gone he was fine 3 hours ago does anyone know if the others would attack in this way or has he died for some other reason then been pecked at .There is no other damage to fins spines or his body .thanks for any help on this

Very sorry to hear of your loss. Since you are confident of your water parameters it's difficult to name a cause with certainty.
Probably safe to say most captive volitans die due to feeding issues; i.e. overfeeding/goldfish/intestinal blockages, etc.. Keep a careful eye on the others, BTW, what size tank, what was diet rotation?

Hi my tank is a fifty gallon at the moment with live rock external pump and an air driven skimmer ,i have had concernes hes not been eating properly so ive been seperating him with a glass plate and feeding on his own because the others are just greedy pigs diet has been cockle mussle marine flake prawn and a local marine mix from my lfs, all in the tank have nice colours and appear healthy i have been feeding with long tongs and they all including the lion have been chasing them around the tank to catch the food
