I just added a 4" african cichlid (id? no idea, but female) to my tank ... I was a bit worried that my male m.auratus would flip out on the newbie, but instead the two have been ... getting along.
The two will convulse/shake/vibrate when each is nearby .... circle around eachother nonthreateningly.
Am I gonna have some baby fish on my hands?
