I have a penguin 170 and a cascade 200 for my 55 gallon aquarium, is this enough filtration? I have 3 blood parrots, 5 headilght taillights, 6 guppies, 5 cories, 1 octinclins. Is my tank overstocked? If not does anyone have any suggestions on fish i could add? I also have a few plants that cover about 30% of my tank.

There is no such thing as enough filteration. More the better. The minimum requirement for filteration is that the filter should turn the entire volume of water in your tank 6 or 7 times an hour.
For 55 gallon tank your filteration system should have combine GPH rating 0f 330 or 385 or better.

Your tank is not overstocked now. Be carefull and hope that all guppies are males. They livebearers are notories at reproducing and can easily over stock a 55 gallon tank

Get yourself a test kit and test your water on a weekly basis. If you see ammonia and/or nitrites elevated, you do not have enough filtration.

Personally I like the Jungle 5 in 1 Quick dip strips.

Best of luck,

I have those Jungle 5 in 1 Quick Test Strips and everything is good so i guess my filters are doing there job.
