yo im mike
after all the posts and all i fiannaly bought a *** couple of blood parrot. im pretty sure their both males.they are offspring of a real couple of blood parots.they look much better than the real deal in my opinion.they have perfectly oval bodies no head or spine difformities. they are gorgeous. their anal and dorsals extend farther than their caaudals which makes a really neat effect.they are pink/orange with yellow eyes.anyways my question is that im wondering what size would they reach beeing offsping of large cichlids(red devil/gold severum is my guess)right now their abouy 4 1/2 iches each and i stuck em in my 20g now i was wondering what size they can reach and if they will reach it in my 20g.

They grow a minimum of 8 inches. I've also heard some getting to 10 inches. That 20g is way to small for them. For 2 BPs a 55g is the minimum.
Roughly 30g for 1 and a additional 15-30g for each one after.

I agree with capps. Get them into a bigger tank asap. You're going to stunt their growth by keeping them in that 20 gallon.
Average size for BP's is 8" likewise I have seen larger ones, but they were kept in large tanks in perfect water conditions, so they thrived!
Do your fish and yourself a favour and invest in a larger tank as soon as possible...min 55 gallon but go larger if you can afford it ;)
