ok i have a few questions......i got somt java fern like 3 bunches and 2 potted plants to start with their "cryptocoryne lucens" and "cryptocoryne lutea" both labeled low to moderate light plants......and i have 2 blue ramms in the tank...... for fert im using this stuff the petsmart clerck suggested petsmart being the best sorce i've see so far for plants out here but the fert is called "plant gro" its got nitrogen 0.15%,boron 0.0005%,copper 0.0005%,iron 0.26%,manganese 0.5% ,molybdenum 0.0007% and zinc 0.0003% and she told me to dose it once a week to see how they grow....and if they start to turn brown to do it twice a week...now me being new to plants is this good advice? should i use a differnt fert or more often cause i'd like to be able to add more plants......my java fern isn't looking all that good but it was the best they had....they said it was from shippin and the usually snap back once they get in water with more light and ferts its got black markings, anything else i can add to help the plants perk up? but again im new....and have about 25 bucks invested so far... :dive2:

How much lighting and are you using co2?

If you don't have high light and co2, you may not even need fertilizer at all. In fact, adding fertilization to slow growth plants will encourage algae. The algae will use what the plants don't need.
