I know that it is fine to use table salt as opposed to aquarium salt. The ingredients in the brand I have are as follows. Salt, Calcium Silicate, Invert Sugar, Potassium Iodide. The invert sugar is making me wonder if it would be okay to use. Anyone know if that is a standard ingredient and okay to use?

Invert sugar ia s processed form--smaller crystals than regular sugar. In minute amounts, I wouldn't worry about it at all. It won't hurt the tank, might feed a few bacteria (meaning, you might see some clouding, but it will be short lived).

I use the cheap store brand non-iodide tablesalt and have had very good luck. some fish like the iodide, just depends I guess. KYle
