I currently have a 29 gal tank that is not planted. I have 2 ottos, 4 danios, and three clown loaches (1 about 4 inches and 2 about 1.5 inches).

Could I add a couple of bosemani rainbows or would that be too much? Alternatively, if I did not add the rainbows, how many more danios could I get away with?

I know the loaches will outgrow this tank and plan on getting a larger one eventually. One final question: how large will the clown loaches get before I have to worry about them eating other fish in the tank?

I would not worry about the clowns eating the other fish, but I would worry about getting a tank before they get too big!! Maybe another inch or two on the bigger one and I would really be planning for it, that way their growth will not be stunted.
The rainbows like to be kept in groups, preferably 5 or more. I'm not very familiar with them other than that though. How big does that particular kind get? You might skip the rainbows for now and get 6 or so more danios, maybe even another otto or two.

Even though clown loaches are one of the slower growing fish, the need a larger tank, the ywill end up out growing 55gals let alone 29.

Mm-hmm. I've seen 10 year old clowns top out at 9 inches, but healthier ones topping out at 12 inches!
