Filter crapping out?

I have this aqua clear filter for almost 3 years and latley I cant get the flow going strong at all on it....anyone know the shlef life of my filter...do these things naturally lose power after a certain amount of use?

Did you try clening it? Try to take a look at the impleeer too.

I'd recommend cleaning the filter. Might be too much gunk building in the flow ways. And espescially clean out the impeller and the area around it! Mine had so much gunk that it couldn't get started.

If you try those things and it still doesn't start, consider a new one. 3 years is a pretty good time.

have you compacted too much media in it? it gets like that some times in this case

I have thouroughly cleaned it inside and out...flow is still very slow
