I think that most of you have had the same troubble as I, trying to catch fish out of huge tanks, and ending up ruening half the tank as well as pissing you self off. I just had a great idea that I think should work great. As you all must have noticed, fish are very easy to catch at night, but if you did, it would have to be in the bag for ages before you went to the lfs. So what you do is darken your room, so that is looks like night when it isn't. You offcourse have to do this in the morning, before any light comes in, basically shut the curtains when you go to bed. This way the fish will be easy to catch and you can take them in the bag and go straight to the lfs.
Agressive feeders like damsels and basslets, that are real nightmares to catch in reef tanks are a breeze to catch in nets using bait. Stick a big ol gob of shrimp in the net and wait for him to smell it and swim in after it. Move quick b/f he takes it out of the net.

hehehe, good one. I heard though that you can only use that trick once, because they learn that it is a trick.

I've never tried this myself, but I have heard of (of all things) using a very small hook and line! get a hook without barbs or snells, and bait it with their fave food.
I got that from some site where there were some huge reef tanks, and that was the only way they could catch their fish! go figure...
