Fish picks?

I've read myself to death...what fish like soft water and a ph of about 7.5 and like plants but don't eat them? I want something colorful with a bit of personality. I just can't seem to find what I am looking for. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you like native fish,try black banded sunfish from Florida suppliers. Small,colorfull ,full of personality. Size 1.5-2.5" Easy to feed but you may have to wait for availability. CHEWEY

Neon Tetras fit the bill!

I love Neons...my favoret fish, but really most tetras love soft water near nurtal pH and lots of plants...

Others that I would recomend:
-Black Neon Tetras (aka Black Line Tetra)
-White (skirt) Tetra
-Silver Tip Tetra
-Glow Light tetra
and if its a biger tank: Congo Tetra

But I would only add Neons after you have cycled the tank _totaly_. They are sensitive to to high amonia and nitrates, but very hardy and long lived if you pay a little attention.

Native fish aren't really what I am looking for, I can go to the nearby lake and catch sunfish so that's out. (Hubby might try to fish in my tank:p )

Thanks for the ideas, I may go with a lot of tetras, I already have some Serpae's and Head and Tail lights.
