hey guys, even though I'm sure most of you won't be interested, I had to share my happiness. :) I just picked up my dream amp. A 1962 pre CBS Fender brownface Princeton amp.

I'm very excited to get it!!...

Anyway, my gf, and most of my friends really don't understand how hard it is to find this amp in this condition, so I thought of sharing it with you guys... even though it might be the least bit interesting for you... ;)

Congrats! I always appreciate it when someone else gets something cool--even if I don't always 'get' why it's cool. ;) Happiness shouldn't require explanations.

Very COOL Cheech!!

I love the old amps. I sold an old Mesa a few years ago to buy knifemaking equipment. I'll probably replace it along with a nice Flying V at some point :)

Thanks guys... I was lucky enough to find out that the seller lives 15 minutes from my house, so no shipping costs...

Knife, I always wanted a mesa, but they are quite pricey. I'm gonna go pick it up tomorrow... Can't wait to plug her in .. :)

Ya!! I used to live near the East Coast Music mall in CT. I bought mine from Eddie Roman and paid through the nose for it. It was previously owned by Duran Duran or whoever produced their albums. I've never heard another amp that size that sounded that good.

Neat. What kind of guitar do you own? I'm assuming it's for a guitar.

I love Mesas. Awesome sounding amps. And they're so versatile too. that's one of the reasons I'm not too crazy about Marshals. that Marshal sound, for me, can get a little overwhelming. . .

I own a 1997 Fender Strat. US made. I love it. I changed the stock pickups and replaced them with Active EMG pickups. (Same ones Gilmour (pink floyd) uses. I love the sound, but I'm debating whether or not I'll one day change them and get some texas specials, to get that dirty warm blusish SRV kinda sound.. :)

Unbelievable. I just got the amp, went home and plugged her in... The sound is sooo deep, and warm... And when you crank it at 4, the natural overdrive/distortion already starts to kick in. At 8-10, it just screams .. Its natural distortion is amazing.

NICE!!!!

Right now I use my sons Mini Marshall. For it's size it's not bad. I'm a BC Rich (NJ) fan but also like Gibson Flying V's. My dream guitar would be a 60's era V with the BC Rich electrics, pre-amp, rotary switch and DiMarzios. I'd also take a BC Rich double neck whatever

Congrats on your cool new toy!!

Nothing like the warm hum from the big tubes eh Cheech? I'm assuming that itu uses tubes.
