last night when i was doing my regular water change, i decided i wanted to move a few fish around in my tanks. i netted one of my biggest (orange and black sail fin molly) and tried to flip her over into the cup like always, but we missed the cup and floped onto the table. i luckily caught her, and as i was about to put her back into the tank, she flopped out, and landed RIGHT into the ashtray where i had a light ciggarette sitting! i was so shocked i immediatly stuck my hand in and took her to my QT tank. it looked like i had burned her side and right on her eye, but when i checked up on her a few mins later, it turned out it was just some extra ashes. the only damage happended to her fin (it got burned off pretty bad.) i was so upset and i wasnt able to net anymore fish, i am afriad i will hurt them. thankfully she seems fine, just like nothing happended, and it swimming and eating great. i am still gonna give her some alone time for a little while.
just thought i should let everyone know, next time i wont even have an ashtray or anything else near by. :sad:
