Cute pet stories time!

I couldn't resist, especially because I've been aquiring pets and they're just a big part of my life, so I thought it'd be fun to share some of my stories, and hear other people's stories, so scaly, furry, feathery, just plain skin, lets hear em!

I recently got a ferret (last Friday!) and I've been experiencing the joys of having one of the little monsters. For some reason she absolutely loves to steal the massage mit. And the other day I hadn't heard any noise from her so I went to check under the dresser, I had to take out the drawer. While attempting to put the drawer back, her furry little head popped out from a leg of my boyfriend's shorts, it was so cute. Also this morning after my boyfriend got out of the shower she snuck into the bathroom and started nibbling his ankles, because they were wet and probably smelled of soap, and she just wanted a taste. ;) Lol and she enjoys "helping" me fold the laundry, especially socks, which she likes to steal and roll around on and all sorts of cute stuff. Oh and one last thing, the other day I got a wake up call by her jumping up on the bed and scampering across my face.

Also I have a cat and currently she has wormed her way under my covers and is sleeping there, which she never does, and it's really cute. Also when my other cat was sleeping she snuck up and started licking his foot, unfortunately that woke him up and they don't get along so he chased her away, my poor kitty. And she's such a sweet heart when I'm sad and crying she freaks out and starts half meowing half purring and walking all over me, and if I stop she'll lay down and sleep beside me, but if I start up again she'll get up again and it's so sweet and cute.

I have dwarf puffers and one of them was sleeping on top of the themometer one night. It's one of the ones that suction cup to the inside, and yeah, she was sitting on top of that staring out at me. Lol.

Anyways lets hear it from some other animal lovers. :) :)

Well, it's tragic, but adorable.

My 9 year old cockatiel Archy got scratched/bitten/hurt somehow last Friday. He got stiches and to keep him from pulling them out he now has to wear this:

Yay, theres more animal lovers out there like me!
We have two cats.. Tiger - she's just a cat but Murphy - thinks shes human. Explores everything, searches every cupboard and room in the house almost like a routine. Loves getting on the roof when my partner does, sleeps in the oddest places drinks water out of the bath tap, rushes outside to meet eiher my partner or myself when we arrive home from work... and more. Thought I'd post a couple of pics of her:

Years ago My husband and I had a pet Guinea Pig named "C.B." for Cotton Ball. He was all white with medium length wavy hair. Anyway, his favorite game was what we called "head up - head down". We would think he was sleeping when all of a sudden he would quickly pop his little head up and lay it back down again. (kind of like this) :bowing: He would do this many times till we rewarded him with a veggie. He was the best pet we ever had. He died of old age, I miss him. :(

My cat waits in the window for me to come home in the evening. He doesn't wait all day--just jumps up in the window about 10 minutes before I normally get home. He waits until I pull into the driveway and get out, then jumps down and runs to the other side of the room. It's like he doesn't want me to think he was waiting on me--silly beast.

We just put in wood laminate in the basement (replacing the ugly pink carpet!). My cat is just now getting comfortable walking on it, but the other cat loves it. She plays and plays and plays--milk rings are her new favorite toy, because they slide around so easily. Her favorite game is to push a toy underneath a cabinet, then run around and push at it from all sides. Crazy!

We just got a 3 month old yorkie puppy this weekend. We also just closed on our house this weekend. Bad combo. We've been painting since Saturday and although we usually try to keep the puppy either completely occupied with a non-painter or in her play pen, last night we wanted to tire her out for a good nights sleep. We both had a lot of painting to do so we let her play around us while we watched her.

After smelling the paint a little too closely several times and coming a little to close to freshly painted doors a few more times we got accustomed to wiping paint off of her with a damp cloth and continuing on. Then I heard Jaime scream OH...No! I looked to see Maddie scampering across the wood floors leaving behind a little green footprint trail! She had gotten into a paint tray that I had completely forgotten about.

Fortunately the floors are newly refinished and the latex paint came off easily. Her paws were a different story. Needless to say Maddie got her first bath last night and we got the best laugh we've had of off her yet.

What a cute little girl! Painting and pets is always an interesting combo. I've painted several rooms in the last year, and have one cat that persists in 'helping'...She had a yellow and blue striped tail for a while, just wouldn't let me clean it off.

This is the same cat that had to investigate the new concrete sidewalk we poured (thought it was hardened enough, our mistake). There are now 3 perfect little cat prints in one black that collect the rain nicely. :rolleyes:

our kitten max was gotten around christmas and nursed off of our dog judge the only problem was the cat was suckling a point of hair that was dead center in the dogs chest funniest thing i ever saw a male cat suckling of a male pitbull...hehe....and now the neweaddition jury and the cat max now play hide and seek the cat willl run up to the top of the basement steps and meow untill the dogs come running then he will bolt down the steps and hide after about five minutes up come the dogs and shortly afterward the cat does it again its funny to watch and im not sure if the cat is dumb or bored but its an every night thing!

We have 2 boxer dogs. they know when I'm coming home. My husband saus they go to the front room a few min before I fet there, and when I unlock the front door, they are at the top of the stairs all happy to see me. It's great!
Chloe, the younger of the pair and female, will play games. You just touch her front paws and it starts a game where I touch a paw and she tried to get my hand, and then starts making wookie noises, and she likes to play Indian dog. SHe goes woo woo, and you pat your hand on her muzzle in front of her mouth to make the noise. SHe loves to stalk and catch bugs. She will mangle them, but not eat them. We had a mayfly massacare int he family room last night. We finally caught on. She was having us open the door, one would come in, she'd stalk and catch it, play with and kill it, and then go back to the door and have us open it again. It took us 4 bugs to catch on.

She brings rocks into the house to play with. She will hold them in her mouth..drop them, pick them up and do it again. She bounces balls that way...rubber bones, anything that will bounce or roll she will do it just to wantch what it does, either on the floor or go outside and drop down the deck steps.

Duke, the poor old guy, is just happy to occasionally get a toy and play with it in front of ehr so she can't have it.

Sigh--my poor Old Man is a bit slow. (wups--my dog Orion is called Old Man, because of how he stretches in the morning when he gets up.) About 2 weeks ago, I added a stone gargoyle to my backyard. He's in between 2 new raised beds that we put in. First day he was in, the cats had to sneak up (you know, belly to the ground, tail twitching, advancing one step at a time then a sudden rush for the last 2 feet?) before completely ignoring him.

Apparently, Old Man hasn't paid enough attention--he just noticed the gargoyle this morning. Trotting down the sidewalk, suddenly jumps, then crouches down and slinks up to the gargoyle, dragging his belly on the ground the whole way, jumps back a few times before finally sniffing the poor gargoyle and deciding it's not really a threat.

Poor puppers--so confusing.

I have a young male cat (2.25 yrs) who, for various reasons, is just now coming around to want to play with the Big Folks in the house. One morning a few weeks ago, I came out of the bedroom into the living room and found him laying on his regular bed (my ottoman). I got down on the floor and started crawling around and laying on my side, swiping at him like he does to the other cats when he wants to play. He jumped down off the ottoman and started headbutting me and sniffing me like I was a cat.

So now, we've gotten into this "3 minutes of morning play" routine. In fact, this week he's been listening for me to get out of bed. When I turn around from doing Mother Mature's business first thing, I have a cat waiting for me to follow him into the living room to bump heads for a few minutes.

This is a real step up for him, he doesn't really talk to any other humans, and doesn't really get too much playtime except for with his girlfriend cat. I dunno, it's just cute to me. :)

I have a 2 yr old St. Bernard who tells us he needs to go out by walking over with a shoe or his bunny-dog toy in his mouth. When he gets to the door, we stand there and have a "drop-it" session for a few minutes before he actually goes out. This is one of his favorite things to do. When someone comes into the house or we pop the "wanna go out" question to him unexpectedly, he runs around frantically looking for that bunny dog... or a sock..... or a shoe..... here's a pic of the 'lil' guy from Christmas.

What a big sweetie, Doll!!!

My boy brought his bunny in the house. He and the princess were outside quite a while one am. He finally came in carrying something in his mouth, and it was obvious Chloe wanted it. I looked and thought it was an old sock or something, but got up for a closer look, and found it was a dead baby bunny! It was not chewed up, but I think my boy planned to lie in comfort on the family room floor and enjoy his treasure. Fortunately he likes cheese better, and I ran and got a piece and threw it and he went for it and I confiscated the bunny. EEWW!

We've got a lab pointer cross named Shadow who loves stuffed toys. Any time I bring a new one home, we give it a 'name', repeat it a few times so he associates it with the toy, and the result is a nutty dog who will fetch you any given toy from anywhere in the house when asked 'go get your __'.
Anyone who visits is guaranteed to be offered one of Shadow's drool-covered toys - when he hears any activity outside our door he rushes to the toybox to get something to take with him, before he investigates what's going on. Any burgler would be confronted with a guard dog wagging his tail, carrying a stuffed chipmunk, very tough! ;)

We've also got three cats, one of whom has a special place in my heart because he loves fish :) There's a step stool near the 65g that I use when working on the tank - any time I try to put it away, PigPen (he was a very dirty kitten, liked sleeping in the litter) climbs up on it to watch the tank. He'll sit in a chair in front of one of the tanks, watching for hours. He insists on 'helping' me with maintenance - when he sees the Python come out, he knows something's up with the fish and wants to investigate. He may have been a fish in a former life - he won't touch cat treats, but goes nutso for Hikari algae wafers and freeze dried krill.
The same cat was once discovered halfway up our Christmas tree when he was a kitten. He looked more than relieved when my husband pried him out, and hasn't attacked a tree since :)

One of my cats will play fetch with me. He loves the milk rings, and when I throw one for him, he'll go get it, bring it over drop it in my lap and look at me, we've played for a good half hour before. We think he learned it from our jack russell who is obsessed with fetch. Shes about 5 now and finally not a total spazz!!
Oh and my boxer does the goofy howling woo woo sort of noise too, its the cutest!! But shes getting old we can tell... shes about 8 and just had to have a mast cell tumor removed from her side a little while back, but all is well for now!
All together we have 3 cats, and 3 dogs, a boxer, jack russell and border collie :dog:

I just got my ferret from a friend, and I haven't bathed her yet. But my friend says that she hates bathes and likes to poop all over the place when she gets one. So I'm trying to teach her that water is something to play with instead of being scared of. I got a big plastic tub and filled it about an inch full of water and put some toys in and let her at it. So far she likes to stick her nose under water, take a deep breath, and come out sneezing like crazy. Hee hee.

My one cat likes to play hide and seek too. I'll chase him and then give him a second to run into one of the rooms in the hall way and then I'll come looking for him. When I find him I run away and hide and call him and then he comes and looks for me, when he finds me he takes off and hides, and so on until he gets bored. It's super cute.
