In the arms of my keeper
:( :( Most of the mollie babies i had died whal i was gone. I am down to 4 babies and just the male. I still don't know why the female died. but i have a question... on a 10 gal that allready has a undergravel filter what filter can i gat that will NOT suck up my babies or what can i do to stop it from sucking them up b/c i plan to bread more mollies when i get the new ones

i have about 50-70 swordail and mollie babies in a 30 g tank with a HOB filter made for a 55g... they seem to be fine, and can get away from the intake on their own.

so long as they're a few weeks old, you should be ok with just about any filter.

float some plastic "breeding grass" on the surface of the tank, so the little guys have a place to hide! consider a more efficient and modern filter like the Marineland bio-wheel series...Emporer 280 would be OK for a small tank...undergravels are old technology.....cheap, but messy and you still have to run a noisy air pump...

Oh no. What taking my sister to PETCO (unfortunatly its the only store around in walking distance with an 8 year old) I went out with the 30$ i had gottne from my dad for a new filter. $22.99 for an ACmini. I paid $29.99 for my AC500 online!. well i got the mini and an extra filter sponge. but then i made the wunderful mistake of taking her to look at the fish4sale. "sissi? cah i put this one with my goldfish?" (no thats an angelfish) the torture went on for about 15 min (she wanted puffers, plattys, anything you COULD'NT house with a large half koi in a 10 gal (the half-koi is going to my aunts pond soon, don't flame me.) then she finaly settled on a mollie... but this one was the fattest one in the tank. so she looks at me and says "she'll be mine, but can she stay in your breader tank?" GGGRrrrrrr how could i say no? so yesterday i left the store with my new EXPENSIVE (   )filter and one new fish and $30 poorer

P.s. since i tightened the screws on the Acient pen-plax airpump my mother gave me that was from my first fish tank when i was about 3 it makes almost no noise:D all you can hear in my room is the 3 fountain filters (2 in my room, one down stairs)
