Today i went 3 hours from my home to get some "rare" otos whice are never around in my area. Problem is i dont have my full stock yet and bio spira needs a full stock. I added ammonia 5 days ago and its currently at 4ppm.
How can i deal with my otos and my tank before i get my Dwarf puffers tommmorow? Will my bio spira die just to accomodate the otos in 1 night?
I will have to make a big water change to down my ammonia before they go in BTW

any help is greatly appreciated!

im not sure, but if i had to guess, enough bacteria would live to accomodate your fish, and the extra will die. then when u get the rest of your fish just put in another pack

if i had another pack...... its very far away to get it so i dont think it will happen

the bacteria would prob last a week or more before the extra bacteria would die. so i you can get the fish in there in a week u would be fine. any longer than that, it might be gone.

24h kas, no way. Bacteria don't die very quickly without food, they just stop reproducing. You'll be fine for a few days. Remember bacteria don't care where they get thier ammonia from. If you put a full stock worth of food in the tank (feed as if you have a full stock), then the food will decay into ammonia and feed the bacteria. A tank is a closed system, fish don't add the ammonia, you do when you feed them.
