I am starting my aquarium back up. I now have a black stand but the trim on my tank is brown. I have two questions...does anyone know if I can get trim in black for an Oceanic 58 gallon show tank or does anyone have any save ways to paint the trim that will last over time. I know if a canopy is used it will come with trim but this may only address the bottom edge of the tank and I don't really want a canopy on it at this time. Any help would be great.

I have an older tank that i want the trim black. Im just going to remove the trim and spray it down with a new krylon spraypaint made specifcally to bond to plastic. Im not too sure what kind of thigns you need to worry about as far as being aquarium safe, but its not in the water so i dont think it will matter as long as it drys long enough. If you wanting to make sure it doesnt chip and lasts a long time, I'd say use a product called "Bulldog Adhesive" which helps the paint stick stronger. Then spray your spraypaint over it.
HTH.
