I currently have a 30g setup, but my new cory fry, a pregnant guppy and a case of internal parasites has convinced me to invest in another tank. Well, 2 actually. I want to get a couple of small tanks (10 - 15g) that I can use for quarantine, etc. I will use one for quarantine/hospital and the other for egg laying, birthing and growing out, etc. They will be planted so when not in use they can house some danios or bettas or something.

Back to the question anyway - what does anyone think of the Rena Aquarama 60 setup? Rena Aquarama 60
 
looks fine too me, as long as the price isnt too much, you may be able to buy the stuff seperatley for less
 
This is just the latest in the "new look" aquariums.

It started with Marineland Eclipse Systems.

So then Hagen went out and bought the Jebo line to compete

and now these guys have this.


From what I have seen the Marineland is still the best of the group but that is not saying much.

The complete under the hood systems like these are very expensive for the most part and IMO the filtration isn't exactly the greatest. The ones I have seen Eclipse and Jebo are not very powerful.

I am going to assume that this new brand by Rena is going to have similar growing pains.

For the cost of the system you can get yourself a very nice well equiped tank or two of similar size or larger. Chances are the latter may even be cheaper in the end if you can find a kit on sale somewhere.
 
From what I can see, this isnt all built into the hood, maybe only the light. The filter is a Rena Filstar internal and the heater is a Rena Cal, both of which you can buy on their own. The price in my lfs is £69.99 ($128.40), but I have seen it on the web for £54.99 ($100.87)
