When you do a water change with a python or similar device, how do you add the dechlorinator? Do you put it in the tank before, in the stream, or another way? I have been using the old bucket method for some time now but i am getting pretty sick and tired of it. It makes for a lots of trip to the kitchen tap when I do a 25% water change on my 75g.

I know I have wondered about this question too. My friend who work at LFS just add the water, and then add the dechlorinator. I have been doing that since I started using my python and have seen no issues. I know some people add straight tap water with nothing at all, but I would think that is risking it.

When I was using my python for water changes I switched off my filter (to keep possibly untreated water from killing off the filters biofilter) treated for half the total volume of the tank and when the refill was half done I would treat for the second half of the total volume of the water and then restart the filter. This, of course, is not the only way of doing this, it is just what worked for me.

I treat for the whole tank before adding new water. I think that is what the Python instructions say to do. I know I read it somewhere.
