I plan on getting another fish this week for my 10g. Right now I have 4 harlequin rasboras in there, none of which is larger than an inch, but they sure are growing fast. I was thinking of a dwarf gourami, but now I am thinking a honey gourami. It needs to be small enough because I want to add 2 ottos or 2 cories in the future.
Any thoughts on a slightly larger fish around 2''?
and thoughts on cories vs. ottos?

A honey gouramie should work--just watch for aggression, and health. I would not get one without being able to quarantine it for at least 4 weeks.
For coires versus otos--depends on what you're looking for from the fish. Cories will help keep the substrate clean, and are fun to watch play around, but will be happier with 3--possibly if you go for a smaller variety, like the pandas or skunks. Otos will help control some algaes, tend to hide more, and do best in well established, planted tanks. They to will do better in a group of 3.

Would 3 ottos plus all of the other fish be overstocked? I think it would work, seeing as I do a 40 percent water change once a week.

Should work for bio-load, but you'll have to work to provide the food for them. Make sure the tank is well established before adding the otos--they often won't take well to prepared foods, and starve. They are more challenging to keep healthy.

Easy fix for the otos, boiled or raw zuchini. They love it. If you can find them, another solution to your cory prob, is get Pygmy or hasbrosus cories, both stay at most 3/4 of an ", so you could put 6 or so in there no problems. As well as a couple otos. Honey gourami are pretty peacful, so aggression shouldn't be too bad.

It would be cool to add 4 pgmy cories in there and 1 honey gourami.

I agree that a dwarf species of cory would be happy in your 10 gallon tank (since they prefer to be in groups of 5 or more and stay small) along with 2 otos, the rasboras, and a gourami (I personally like the dwarf gourami as they are some of the least aggressive and smallest of the gouramis... powder blue, sunset, etc). In my 10 gallon I have 3 harlequin rasboras, 3 red zebra danios, 1 oto, 1 male betta, and 1 corydoras habrosus and am waiting for 3 more to arrive. It's a heavily planted tank and gets a 30% water change each week.

Went with the Dwarf gourami, but boy is he scared of my new flourescent lighting! He just hides under rocks and doesn't move for half an hour. I'm sure he'll get over it. LOL
I will probably get like 2 panda and 2 pygmy cories as well as an otto, but Ive got to get some algae growth first. Shouldn't be too hard with 46 watts of light.

Don't get an mixed group of cories! It's best to keep a larger group of one species rather than mix them, since they interact better with their own kind. Stick with either 4 pgmies or 4 pandas. Both stay small and should be fine.

Float some stuff at the top for it, it will like that. Plants anything really.

aight Winterwind, will stick to 1 kind.
BTW Ergo Sum, that is a good Idea, will try it soon, although just in the last half hour D. Gourami looks ALOT more chipper.
