How many adult angels could I house in a 55gal? Im thinking of stting one up with angels and live plants. I will have to do more research on the plants before then, but what do you all think about the fish?

angels are wonderful peaceful cichlids and would do great in a planted tank. i would only suggest about 4-5 of them for a 55 gal tank.

I'd start with a group of 4-6 juveniles and you should get some pair off. They like swimming amongst Vallisneria and also Amazon swordplants are found in their natural habitat.

I agree with the 4-6.
But i dunno if you could do anything more.
Go with the 4 and add some large tetras.

If you want to add really nice color, I'd add 4 angels plus go for a pair of Blue Acaras. They are both South American.

It all depends, do you wish to breed angels? If so start with 6-8 and hope for 1-2 breeding pairs, and enjoy the rest. If you want a gracefull tank in classic south american style,go for 4 angels a couple of festivum lots of val,a large sword plant and some pygmy chain swords in the foreground. CHEWEY
