Fry Help

This morning, my sister told me that she saw a baby fish in her tank. I found it and scooped it out. It looks like a female guppy fry. I suppose the rest were eaten.
I put it into a small glass vase with some gravel and a plant in it, and I floated it the tank to keep the temperature constant. This most probably isn't a big deal for all you livebearer experts, but I haven't taken care of any fry in my life. I heard that if you keep the light on, they will eat constantly, but this one doesn't seem to be eating at all! I've tried Hikari First Bites, crumbled flakes, and powdered Brine Shrimp, but the little fish isn't interested.
Will the quart-size vase be enough if I do water changes?

I don't have much experience with fry myself, I never see them until they are big enough to survive on their own!(I've had 3 survive that way). If you really want to save it and the others in the future, the easiest thing to do IMO is to get a net breeder. I got one at Meijers for less than 5 dollars, then you don't have to worry about water changes b/c they are in your main tank still, but protected from being eaten! good luck~!
 
I tend to keep my livebeaerers in species only tanks except my swordtails who are with some flag fish.
but normally I keep them with plenty of hornwort and just let them breed. My tanks are filled with fry. I just feed them along with the adults, I just crumble up the flake.
 
We just discovered our first fry last week (3 of them) and we have just left them in the tank. They eat ground up flake food with the adults. We have plenty of caves and plants for cover and we plan on keeping everyone in the same tank.

Instead of eating, the fry was just trying to find a way out of the vase. But when I put his back in the original tank and sprinkled in some flakes, I saw the fry happily munching near the bottom!
 
Yeah fry are like that, they tend to do better in the same tank as the adults or at least in a similar tank that is their own. The only time I have every resorted in keeping fry in another tank or in a breeder net was when I had my 55 gallon sailfin molly tank with a Knight Goby. He was eating all the fry. :D
 
One of the guppies was pregnant yesterday, and now she isn't. I guess she gave birth during the night and the fish ate all the fry. How can I give them a better chance of surviving?

Good water quality and plenty of cover for the fish. I have tanks loaded with fry in my live bearer tanks, due to the fact I have a large amount of Hornwort floating on the top of the tank.
