Do any of you find that when you gravel vacuum, a lot of the stuff that's supposed to be vacuumed up, just gets kicked around? My vacuum, (an AquaVac), will get rid of the bigger stuff, but tends to stir up a lot of dust. The cories then have a field day eating all the dusty bits that I couldn't get. Once the water is changed, the water clears within about 15 minutes, but I was wondering if anyone else has this? Am I vacuuming wrong? The fish don't seem to mind but I don't like it :)

Thanks

As long as you are vacuuming regularly, like once a week or every other week, thats fine. I have the same thing happen, but I also had that problem when I just hadn't vacuumed one of my tanks in a LONG time (when I was clueless about how to maintain a happy tank!) Especially if it clears up right away its nothing to worry about. My corys like it too, right after I vacuum is the most active I think I ever see them

Yes that sounds normal, I have a bit of a trick to keeping the mess down tho. When you dig into the graval and you notice the dust and the feces and all of that coming up, take the vacuum out of the graval and make sure the water inside of it is quite clear before moving on to the next section of graval. This works for me anyway :)
