my betta in my 10 gal, that i got yesterday, is swimming around and is active. when i fed my fish today he seemed not interested in food. he didn't even go to the surface to the food. should i be worried, or is he just not used to the enviorment. my water is perfect, and he is active.

thats good to hear, he is being very active, swimming through the rocks, and bubbles, just not eating.

Boohoo is actually correct its not a prob trust me, i have 5 bettas and when they dont feel like eating their normal pellets then i boil up a pea peel it and give it too them in chunks they always eat that maybe try that?

Bettas can be such little fusspots about thier food. He just doesn't think what you're offering him is as good as what he's had before...lol....silly guy....

He'll get used to what you are giving him, don't go crazy buying up a bunch of different betta foods right away though. If he isn't eating in a few days, try the garlic that Mike suggested. Soak some of the food in a bit of garlic oil mixed with a bit of water...like what you find in minced garlic. He should be intrigued by that if he doesn't get over his finicky attitude before too long. :)
