For quite some time I've been having problems with white growths on the mouths on my harlequin rasboras. After quite some reading I thought it might be columnaris. I first got it on my fish back in around march. It was a white growth from the middle of the bottom lip. It would only grow from that one spot. It would get longer and protrude, and eventually curl somewhat when it got bad. well I finally got rid of it, after trying many different meds. the last one I tried was mardel brand trisulfa, and it got rid of it. So after I move back home from school, a couple weeks after, it comes back. I think the fish got stressed out because of water conditions. The ammonia jumped to around 4 ppm for some reason and I didn't catch it in time. so the other day I try to net some of the to get a closer view and when they struggled in the net, the white parts came off and drifted toward the bottom, but one of them had enough on them for me to get pictures, which was no easy task.
what are you thoughts on it ?
All of the LFS have been out of the trisulfa for the last couple weeks. so I haven't treated them yet. It doesn't seem to kill them, which I hear columnaris will do. I don't beleive it to be a true fungus as I tried fungal meds before and the trisulfa worked...so Im not sure what conclusions to draw.
not sure if the picture is working so this is the link, also if you get a forbidden hit the go button, or highlight the address bar and hit enter
