Has anyone ever put an ivy plant behind thier tank and let some of the leaves grow into the water? Will this work? Any reason not to do this?

I used to hang "Pothos" from my tank. I'd put cuttings in the top and let them start to root. They are low light, so they can do very well with only ambient room light or reflected hood light. The roots were sorta cool for a while, but they got gnarly. I just potted them after a bit. As for the leaves in the water, I don't know. They may be fine and may even start to grow adventitious roots at the nodes (places where the leaves grow from the stem).
If it's not too much trouble, try it. Just pull it out of the tank if the leaves start to get yellow.
