Got a 10 gal. starter kit the other day, set it up Tuesday nite. Added 3 guppies last night, they are chillin out and doing fine. A friend with 3 very well estableshed tanks is changing is media tomorrow, so he's giving me some of the old to jump start the growth of my Important Wee Beasties.
Be sure to get the media and add it soon. A cycled tank is very important for the fish to be healthy. Personally, I would have cycled the tank fully before adding any fish, but if you can add enough established media and some biospira it should be fine. Just don't add anymore fish as of now.
Have you decorated the tank? I would love to see a full view of it.
Plants are a little challenging for the beginner, especially the ones that need high light and nutrients. But if you have any of the anubias, java fern, java moss, they will be much easier.
