Man, I read about everyone's experience with babies, and I never thought it would happen this early. I've read about small yellow labs being able to spawn, as my fish are about 3" on average. I was watching the tank this morning and happen to comes across a couple yellow lab fry! I managed to catch one of them and put him in the 10G for safety. And now the obligatory pics...

The little bugger is like maybe 1/4" long!
Wow!
I'm surprised how much color they have when they are this small.

And now for the other fry...
He's stuck under the UGF! :(
This is how I spotted them first - I saw a flash under the UGF and saw a baby fish there!
I dunno how he managed to get under there (the yellow labs have dug into the gravel in places), but I need to try and get him out from there.
How did I spot a fish under the UGF???
My 60G is 48" x 16", so it's in between a 55G and a 75G / 90G.
The UGF is for a 75G / 90G at 18" (?) wide.
I managed to cut down one "row", and it fit perfectly.
The downside is that the edge butts up squarely on the front, and I can easily peek under the edge.
I think I'm going to push the gravel all to one side and try and snag the other fry.
Else, I was thinking of flipping my RUGF power head to run as a "normal" UGF and try and suck him out???

Congrats on the newfound fry, luck your fish didnt eat them, my danios are pregnat, but im never home to remove the eggs in time, i see sperm clouds all the time, but the females keep eating the eggs i think.. good luck getting the other fry loose, let us know how it goes

I'd try and get him out of there too! He's not going to survive long under the UG plate. Don't reverse the powerhead and hope he gets swept out that way, even if he makes it past the strainer the impeller will chop him up for sure.

Stix, your danios may be spawning but they are notorious egg-eaters, try putting the breeders in a tank with one layer of glass marbles on the bottom so the eggs fall out of their reach and remove the parents as soon as they are finished spawning. Then the fry can hatch out safely into a tank of their own.

I doubt you can reach him, but you could try syphoning him out with a turkey baster?

Ok, I tried to reverse my power jet to suck the guy out; the Penguin 660F has a really long cone "basket" to prevent debris (and fish) from being sucked in.
But...it wasn't enough suction to get the little bugger out. :(
So, I had to resort to last options and dug the UGF plate out after moving all the gravel over to the other side - it's all worth it right? :)
I managed to get him pretty quickly and dropped him in the 10G.
At the same time I was moving things around, I found one more fry! :D
So, it looks like I got *three* total!

All three are doing good, and they are eating crumbled TetraMin flakes pretty voraciously!

Thanx again folks!
