alright...
I have one 10G hospital aquarium i use for treatment, one 10G with mollies used for breeding, a 29G aquarium with 4 ID Sharks, 4 Bala Sharks, 7 assorted mollies, 2 plecos, and a blue lobster, a 55G aquarium with 5 cichlids, and a pleco, and in the process of building my 750G aquarium for my basement. (should be done here in a few weeks...)
My question is with my 29G aquarium, my first mistake was overstocking. I origanally had 9 more mollies that I transfered in back into the 10G aquarium I have, as well as a few goiuramis and 6 tiger barbs. My second mistake was not researching what fish I bought. I realize that ID sharks get extremely big and i've noticed after the 29G just got done cycling and they gret a inch in the last month. I also learned that my bala sharks should roughly reach 12 inches, and recently i had 5 cichlids and one pleco given to me from a friend and i know now that plecos are not small fish at all either...
anyways, thats why i'm building my 750G acrylic aquarium and i will also do a fishless cycle as well. but the problem i'm having right now is that some of my fish regardless of my testing the water regularly and the results show 0 for all the N's they seem a little odd. My ID Sharks in paticular.. the female has under gone the most stress and she is starting to shimmy and yawn every once in a while. When I first noticed that shimmy it scared me and I did a 30% water change and am doing another 30 tomarrow, since my water conditions from tap are not ideal I have been letting large amounts of water dechlorimate by itself (as most peopel know it takes time.) The only thing I can think of it I've not always done water changes this way, i used to use a dechloriminator from my LPS, I started using stress coat during fish cycling, and used prime ones until i read that it contained hydro sulfite i was always under stood that was bad for any living organism? i dunno looking for some advice I guess.. any will help.
What could be causing my fish to shimmy and yawn is this normal? i dont think it is, i could be wrong though... I've also seen my cichlids shimmy and yawn but they seem fine besides one that is being harass non stop by all the other ones.. (he will be moved to a bigger hospital aquarium very soon.)
I had a ID shark that had Ich after i bought him from wal mart (bad mistake) He was shimmying too when he had ich but i just thought it was because he had ICH!@ i treated him very carefully in my 10G hosp aquarium and he seems to be suprisingly well now (besides that fact that he's all by himself.)
if anyone has any suggestions or needs more information i'm looking for some help..
one more question... my 29G has yet to lose a white cloudy looking tint to it will this eventually go away or do i need to change more than 30% of my water next time?
