When I test my pH, I use the same testing supplies for my pool. There is also chlorine and alkalinity that it checks. I just got into plants, so I am using the alkalinity test as well, the problem is that the alkalinity test goes from 0-40-80-120. Isn't alkalinity test suppose to be from 0-2-4-6-8...?

Yea, it is in ppm. Thanks, now I can check the amount of co2 in my tank! Can't I just round 10 degrees to 180ppm? ;) Something is wrong...my pH is 6.8 but my alkalinity level is 0. That means that I don't have co2 in the tank? There are plants in the tank, what should I do? Get some fish to get co2?

Thanks,
Isaac

Alkalinity (KH/Carbonate Hardness) measures carbonate (CO3) and bicarbonate (HCO3)...I don't know if it corresponds to CO2 levels. I'm not familiar with aquatic plants and CO2 (yet). I don't know if using a pool test kit is a problem. You might want to get a freshwater test kit (liquid rather than strips) for more "accurate" results, and to confirm your alkalinity is actually zero...or at least take a sample in to your LFS to test.
