Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 skimmer help

Anyone experienced with one of these? The bubbles are only filling up about 1/4 of the chamber, nowhere near the collection cup. There is an indentifiable tube branching off from the main tube which connects the pump to the skimmer. Is this for a second pump perhaps and that's why the bubbles are low? I can't find instructions online and they didn't come with this freebie skimmer. If you have this skimmer and can tell me what's wrong, please drop a note.

some protine skimmer's skimmers need more air than others try using your airpump only to run it try turing off everything else using air and see if you can adjust the level you might also need to agust the hight of the skimmer in relation to the water .. you might need to lower it down ..or increase the water flow through it to increase the hight in the central chamber ..

If I remember that is a recirculating skimmer came with a rio 2100 the water in comes to a grey tube that points up at an angle the pumps large input is at the bouuon tube ( with the small air hose fitting) and the pumps smaller output conects to the other pipe in the body of the skimmer making a loop.
The only way to get water in is either an over flow directly to the angle tube or a verry SMALL powerhead to feed it from a sump
