I have no luck with raising snails, none at all. I bought a 1.5 gal (it's a spongebob tank lol) and got 5 medium sized brown ramshorns from a friend. I thought they weren't looking so good so I put 3 in my puffer tank to be eaten and left the two that still seemed alive. And today I saw a baby snail! Woo hoo. This has all been rather frusterating for me lol.

I've never had trouble with keeping snails, even ones from the local crick.

Congratulations! For some reason, some things only do well when we don't want them to and don't when we do.

are ramshorns the little snails with the squigly pointy shells?

Thanks everyone. And yes, they are for food. I don't know I just have no luck with them. Everyone who has uncontrollable snails bugs me lol. Send some of those my way!
Ramshorn snails are the ones who's shell looks like a... ram's horn. The cone shaped ones are malasyian trumpet snails. The ones that are kind of box-ey with a spiral sticking out the top are mystery or apple snails. And I don't remember what pond snails look like at this moment.

Glad to hear your success.
I have little tiny white things, which I think, are snails, though I'm not sure, lol. Well, hopefully they will go away.
