I'm thinking of getting a Blue Moonlight kit for my aquarium. I've searched and read up on using as they are popular in Salt Water Aquariums. My aquarium is as follows.

75 gallon
Planted with various plants mid to level light
4 Gouramis
6 Tiger Barbs
2 Green Tiger Barbs
1 Tilfoil Barb
2 Plecos
2 Red tailed sharks
8 Zebra Danios
4 Glo Tetras
2 Crabs

Is this light gonna mess with my fish and also do I need to keep it on a timer (light moonlight)
Right now my light is on a 13/11 schedule. In the winter it changes to 11/13

night light

hello, i dont know about if the light will effect the fish behavior very much, i can't tell that it effects them at all. a night light is nice for you to see the fish that only come out at night. i dont have mine on a timer, it is a diy that my husband made by looking at this website http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_nightlight.htm we have night lights on two tanks

55 gallon
2 platys
5 otos
6 albino cory
6 rasboras
3 long finned danios
5 neons

75 gallon
3 pearl gouramis
3 moonlight gouramis
9 tiger barbs
4-5 upside down catfish
1 rubberlipped pleco
1 paradise fish

Go down to your local computer superstore and pick up a blue cold cathode tube. Strip the wires and connect them to an appropriate Ac/dc converter from an old small appliance.

I'm not electronically inclined and I don't have room in my hood for a second light so I put a floor lamp next to my tank and stuck a blue bulb in it. It gives the tank a really beautiful glow at night and dosn't seem to be interferring with plant growth or fishie happiness. All the shy guys come out as soon as I turn it on so it brings me lots of happiness. :D
