i'm from Vancouver, BC (Canada) and i'm heading into the states tomorrow. I'm going to Redmond to visit my sister and the only pet store that i know there that is close by is PetCo.

I might dropby there tomorrow, so I was wondering what is cheap there. I don't want to leave empty handed =b

petco isn't really cheap, however in you sign up with a pals card then they have some discounts.. the best thing to do when its comes to petco and petsmarts, is to look for clearance items or stuff on sale.. I visit my LFS regularly but check up on petco and petsmart for sales..

huh clearance sections? never heard of them and im a regular at petsmart...even a member of their lil card thing but never got any coupons in the mail.

if you happen to be in bellvue, you should have time to come down to Kings Discus in Chinatown seattle. they got baby angels going for 1.50! And a whole lot of other freshwater fish you dont happen to see alot in stores. Thats where i go to buy some fishes. Thats the only place i could think of in seattle that actualy has a nice and clean aquariums.

Depending on where you shop at home, petco might be worth a visit. Most of their stuff is cheaper than the little local shop that I normally go to

Here, petco is terribly expensive. The items are way overpriced. The fish prices are okay though, but their quality isn't great. Petco has an internal filter (tetra 10i) for $15, and Walmart for $10, and the LFS somewhere in between. Same with the other stuff.

I find petco to be very expensive. Especially for tanks. Their tanks are slightly cheaper than ours (maybe by $5-$10) BUT, that doesn't include the top and lights which almost doubles the price. OUr tanks all come with the top and lights!! (and, sometimes ours with the top and lights is still cheaper than the topless one at the co!) Walmart is always a little cheaper than us, but usually only a few dollars or so, and they don't have the same selection. (nor are their employees as knowledgeable). Petsmart is clearancing out a bunch of its heaters (the preset fully submersable and the Neptune heaters by Marine land, not submersible) so you can find some great deals on those! I don't know about deals at the CO, they are just too expensive for me. Oh, and petsmart will price match with petsmart.com, and some things there (fluvals for example) are much cheaper, so print out the price there, and get it matched!
