Growing Moss/Plants

I was at my lfs today and saw some rocks with moss or some kind of plant that looks like it growing out of it...how or what do i need to do to get this affect for some rocks? i want the natrual look and thos rocks would look nice.

And are they good for your fishtank?

Probably java moss. You can tie it to rocks or driftwood and it will take hold and spread. Sometimes it can become a bit of a pest plant because it seems to get attached to everything it can. It's a very undemanding plant to keep.
