I was just wondering if there was a pleco that is commonly found and is relatively inexpensive that does not get past about say 2 intches??

I will probably need a pleco, but i dont want one that gets huge!

:help:

Thanks in advance!

there are several that you can choose from, and you're right.... definitely away from your commons. How common they can be probably varies from place to place. Check this site to sift through all the different kinds....Planet Catfish (http://www.planetcatfish.com)

You say you need a pleco but why? Bare in mind that for any amount of tank they help keep clean they tend to craete just as much waste. And not all are great algae eaters. Get one if you like the looks but don't get one to keep a smaller tank clean. And most won't get below 4 inches in size.

Instead if you are desparate for algae control (and water changes should hep prevent that) look at getting a couple of otto cats. They stay around 1 inch at max and are good at eating algae for their whole life span. Many plecos aren't.
