Once upon a time... :p:
I had a single snail and it reprodced asexually and then had a outbreak of tiny snails all over my tank. I did not like it but I still want to have a snail... currently I dont have any snails anymore but was wondering if there were any snails that doesn't reproduce asexually? And wouldn't eat live plants?
Thanks in advance!

mystery snail reproduce sexually.they come in really cool colors. i currently have jades, purples, reds, golds, chestnuts, blacks. strangely enough my favorites are the chestnuts. plus you can look on aquabid. i got mine from there and it was great. be sure to look at feeback before buying. my guy had great feedback and i had no problem. also they usually have lots of them at lfs's but the rare colours are hard to find. im surprised noone took this one

by the way keep your snails well fed or they might nibble plants. mine never do but i give them vegetables at night an only the skin is there in the morning. they love cucumbers and squash. they love strawberries too but i gennerally eat them all myself(lol?)

most snails would only eat your plants if your plants are not healthy and dying. Most snails don't eat healthy plants.

I think the snails you had when you had a "problem" were ramshorns. My girlfriend keeps apple snails and they have been great so far. Apple snails come in a lot of beautiful colours. If I were you, I would give those a try

Cool! So far I've got 3 snails to choose from! I have 10g with 2 guppies, 1 betta, and 2 cory.
Will do some homework! :dive2: Thanks!

so if you have a mystery snail do you take it out of the tank and put the cucumber and snail somewhere like a bowl or sumn and feed it? or do you drop a piece of cucumber in there while the snail is in the water?

I would avoid an apple snail in a 10 gallon tank. They can get too large. And some varieties of apple snails are very good at eating healthy plants.

I had 2 apple snails in my tank. I cant even tell you how many I have now. They grow up pretty quick too. Ill probally have to give some to the LFS when they get a little bigger. Maybe I can supply everyone who wants one on the forum. lol

Is this snail SW? Or can it survive just fine in FW?
Thanks.
