I was wondering how much it would cost to buy a red bellied piranha. I know they are illegal in florida but was wondering where they are legal to buy.

Dude...don't do this if you live in Florida. Seriously. The Fish & Wildlife commission down there might not do much about other introduced species of fish but trust me, if it were to get to them that you have piranhas, they *WILL* prosecute you. You might try and be a 'responsible' fishkeeper and all, and not release any of those fish should they become unwanted for any reason, but all it will take is one person reporting you and you'll be in deep doo-doo. Your beautiful fish that you raised for years will be confiscated and euthanized immediately. There's a reason why piranhas are not legal for ANYONE to have in the state of Florida. All you have to do is read about all the 'harmless' species that have permanently established themselves in Florida waterways to see why a piranha population would be a real threat to not only the ecosystem, but to the public. The public. People's KIDS. There are NO permits issued for them, they are not allowed to be transported across the state line alive or dead. There is no way possible to legally have them in your possession there. Just by asking around about getting them where they are banned tells me you are NOT responsible at all. Don't jeopardize truly responsible fishkeeper's rights in the state of Florida by doing what you want to do.Does anyone know of anybody that would ship to Florida? of course legally
