betta sick?

i have my betta in a 2.4 minibow tank with a heater, and just ystrday i took out the submerged power filter and put a small hangin power filter on, and since, hes been actin odd. like, hes swimmin up and down the back of the tank and flarin his gills up at it, and doesnt want to eat like he normally does. know whats wrong?

I think hes probably just adjusting to the change to his home. But besides that, did you keep any of the old filter media for the new filter? You may go through another cycle if not. How long have you had this tank going?

no, the filter pads were'nt compatible. and about, pfff, 6 months
but im glad thats all.

I'm sure you do alot of water changes on a tank that size anyway, but I would keep up with them and check for amonia and nitrites, since you might go through another cycle. That way if they start to go up you can keep on top of it :)
