I just read Fishhooked's post and am now thinkng about seeding my rock. How long would it take 15-20 pounds of LR to seed 20 or so pounds of base rock? Should I set the LR leaning up against the base rock? Thank you

Seeding it with the critters happens fairly quickly for most, algae is a bit slower. Having the rock in contact will speed it up. From what I recall, it took about 6 months for most of our pieces to look good. We added a few nice peices as we went along, to provide greater variety.
